Why Switzerland should be in your Bucket List

Switzerland is an expensive country to travel to. That is a reality most people know but it doesn't stop them from visiting the country. Geographically, it is a land-locked country of mountains and rolling hills. But what makes Switzerland worth visiting and spending your money on?

 

I was fortunate enough to visit the country in 2017 and it is a place that left a lot of good memories in my heart. It was clearly a wonderful and peaceful place. Here is a guide why it should be in your bucket list. 

 

1. It is a country of scenic mountainscapes, lush meadows and beautiful chalets. 

I was in awe when I had a jaw-dropping experience on our train to Jungfrau. The train going to the peak gave us a wonderful tour of the countryside sceneries. The beautiful meadows where one can just go galloping and singing like a madman is simply exhilirating. The streams which flow gracefully in its pristine beauty gives a soothing calmness from the hustle and bustle of the city. The pretty valets, rustic in beauty are reminders of simplicity and sheer contentment.

 

2. You can get a better view of the Alps through Jungfrau

The Alps is a mountain range that traverses through various countries in Europe. Switzerland is the most Alpine country in Europe and you can easily get a view of the snow-capped mountains from many places. Traveling to Jungfrau is an eye-popping experience. I cannot remember how many times I wished the train would stop for a moment so I can savor and capture the grandeur of the Swiss Alps. The moment you arrive in Jungfrau, you can have a clearer view of the Alps  as it is considered as one of the highest points of Europe.

 

3. It is a ski country.

For sports enthusiasts, no place would compare to Switzerland's ski experience. The country has the most number of ski resorts in Europe. The powdery snow and the beautiful mountainscape is simply incomparable. Due to the tough competition, the services they offered are also better than other countries with a variety of ski tracks. 

 

4. It is a peaceful and perfect place to commune with nature.

For those who are looking for a sweet retreat  from life's troubles, Switzerland is a perfect place to go. The place is quiet, rustic and peaceful. It provides you with an opportunity to commune with nature and de-stress. People are friendly and eager to help at least from my own experience.

 

5. You can indulge in chocolates and cheese!

Switzerland is famous for its chocolates. These are not ordinary chocolates but made by world-famous chocolate makers. You can taste different types of chocolates in many shops and can pack up some as gifts. There are also various kinds of cheeses made only in Switzerland. With all these delights, perhaps there is every reason to visit it at least once someday!
