Yesterday, the first episode of Lee Min Ho's and Kim Go Eun's new tv drama was released entitled, "The King: Eternal Monarch". It's a fantasy drama of two worlds where one is present-day Korea and the other is a constitutional monarchy. It has already set record ratings in its first episode aired in SBS and netflix.

Sure to be a new hit, here are some highlights and things to look forward to in the new drama:

Lee Min Ho's comeback

After his success in "Legends of the Blue Sea", he enlisted in has mandatory military service in May 2017. After finishing the said service in April 2019, "The King: Eternal Monarch" is his first tv drama. Here he plays the role of a young king and in episode 1, he surely made our heart drop heart-dropping with that boat race scene. Yes, we sure miss him.

New loveteam

If you've watched the hit show "Goblin" starring Gong Yoo, then you surely know and love Kim Go Eun who was his co-star. She has surely made us cry, laugh, and fall in love with her acting. In this new drama, Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun's combination is a force to reckon with.

Another second lead syndrome?

We have experienced this again and again: crushing on the second lead. This time, he is in the form of the head of the royal guard and personal friend of the king. He is Woo Do-Hwan. Episode one hinted that he will have a love story himself and the thought that he may have another character in another world is simply exciting.

The parallel universe twist

In this drama, one world where Korea has monarchs and another where it is a republic is interconnected. This means that characters play dual lives different from one another in the two worlds. Kdrama has once again offered us something different from the usual romance genre. Let's see if this fantasy drama will be a yay or a nay.
